Abstract

Based on the HAPC-CCREM model and using data from CGSS 2010 to 2021, this study dynamically and comprehensively examines social trust among rural residents in China. The results show that social trust increases with individual age, exhibits a U-shaped pattern over time periods, and an N-shaped pattern across cohorts. It is also influenced by multiple factors such as gender, health status, political aspect, education level, and income. The findings reflect the socio-economic changes in China since its founding and highlight social trust issues emerging from socio-economic transformation in the rural development process.

Keywords: New quality productivity, rural social trust, age-period-cohort model.
