Abstract

China boasts abundant labor resources of young-old adults, and active aging provides an opportunity for their development. They still contain rich potential in terms of knowledge capital, human capital, social capital, and innovation capital. Western countries such as those in the OECD entered a deeply aging society earlier than China. They have placed intergenerational collaboration at an important position in economic development and taken knowledge and skills as the fulcrum to tap into the labor value of young-old adults. China’s advantages lie in a high degree of national autonomy and a profound foundation of Confucian cultural inheritance. Against the backdrop of China’s comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society, the "Millennials", as digital natives of the digital era, have inherent advantages in new-quality productive force elements. Empowered by "AI + vocational education", young-old adults can realize the transfer of knowledge and skills in fields such as health care, education, domestic services, and consulting, becoming fertile ground for the development of new-quality productive forces.
