Abstract

The spirit of the Red Flag Canal refers to the spirit of self-reliance, hard work and entrepreneurship, unity and cooperation, and selfless dedication formed during the construction of the Red Flag Canal in the 1960s. The spirit of the Red Flag Canal is not only the pride of the people of Linxian County, but also an important part of the great spiritual pedigree of the CPC and a valuable spiritual wealth, which has become the source of motivation for generations of young people to continue their struggle. The spirit of the Red Flag Canal has rich ideological and political elements and plays an important role in the teaching of ideological and political courses in high schools.Based on the teaching of ideological and political courses in high school, this paper explores ways to enhance the spirit of Red Flag Canal, analyzes the connotation and value of the spirit, and puts forward specific ways to optimize the teaching design for students to develop textbooks, carry out the second class, watch patriotic movies, and help high school students to grow up healthily and strengthen their ideals and beliefs.
